8 WAYS TO CELEBRATE FALL IN YOUR CINCINNATI PARKS

The summer heat is finally passing and the leaves are beginning to fall. Halloween is almost here and there are TONS of ways to celebrate in YOUR Cincinnati Parks! We’ve gathered a list of some of the best activities for families and adults to get you celebrating the fall season. From Spooky Campfire Stories and S’mores to Woodland Wine Tastings, there’s something for everyone!

FALL ACTIVITIES FOR ADULTS

HALLOWEVE BREW BASH – AULT PARK
October 18 | 6:30-10:30pm
Hosted by the Ault Park Advisory Council, the HallowEve Brew Bash is perfect for beer lovers! Your ticket includes ten (10) five-ounce tastings from some of Cincinnati’s top Microbreweries. Music will be provided by Gee Your Band Smells Terrific, which plays “The Super Hits of the ’70s,” including some ’70s Halloween songs! Tickets: $20

WOODLAND WINE TASTING AND FALL FOLIAGE HIKE – BURNET WOODS
October 25 | 6-9pm
Spend the evening enjoying the beautiful colors of Fall at Burnet Woods while supporting Cincinnati Parks Foundation. Enjoy a Woodland Wine Tasting journey and fall foliage hike on October 25. Delicious wines and light bites will be provided. Tickets: $50 for non-members. (FREE for current Stewards of Burnet Woods members.)

FALL ACTIVITIES FOR FAMILIES

CINCINNATI PARKS’ MAGIC FOREST HALLOWEEN HIKES –  CALDWELL NATURE CENTER
October 18 & 19 | First hikes begin at 7pm
Walk through a pumpkin-lit trail and meet costumed characters from nature and history. This is a non-scary Halloween walk suitable for children ages 3-10. Tickets: $6

HOWL-O-WEEN IN THE WOODS – CALDWELL NATURE PRESERVE 
October 20 | 12-3pm
Dress up in costumes and bark up some fun with your canine companion! Take a hike on our pumpkin-filled trail and fill your pup’s goody bag with swag! Enjoy fun dog activities, a photo booth and costume contest. Tickets: $10

SPOOKY CAMPFIRE STORIES & S’MORES – CALIFORNIA WOODS NATURE PRESERVE 
October 25 | 7-8:30pm
Enjoy an evening of (not so) spooky campfire stories around a campfire atop a beautiful bluff at California Woods.
This program is FREE, but seating is limited. Registration is required.

NOT-SO-CREEPY CRAWLIES HOMESCHOOL PROGRAM – AVON WOODS NATURE CENTER
October 30 | 10am-12pm
(Homeschool families only.) Ready to meet some creepy crawlies? How about some slithery slimies? Some of these wild adaptations are great survival tools! We’ll hike, play games and learn about these sometimes misunderstood critters of our local ecosystems. Tickets: $5

HALL-BOO!-WEEN KIDS TRICK-OR-TREAT – BURNET WOODS
October 31 | 6-8pm
Hosted by Preserve Burnet Woods, Hall-BOO!-ween Kids Trick or Treat is a safe, pedestrian friendly event for families. Check in by Trailside Nature Center before visiting several trick-or-treat stations set up around Burnet Woods Lake. Parents MUST accompany children around the park. Tickets: FREE but registration is required.

PUMPKIN CHUCK – STANBERY PARK
November 2 | 12-5pm
Hosted by the Mt. Washington Community Council, is the 13th Annual Pumpkin Chuck. This family-friendly event offers kids activities, tasty food, beer from local breweries, live music and an exciting pumpkin chuck! This event is FREE.
