Cincinnati Parks Advisory Councils (CPAC) are volunteer citizen groups which seek to build and maintain public support for neighborhood Cincinnati Parks. CPACs provide feedback to the Cincinnati Park Board, advocate for their neighborhood park and organize community volunteer and programming events.
In 2019, the Cincinnati Parks Foundation created a CPAC Grant Program to provide financial and logistical support to each CPAC across the city. “We believe that the best people to program their own neighborhood park is the community members who live around and play in those parks. They understand their community’s wants and needs the best. We give them the resources and tools to support their plans,” said Foundation Executive Director, Jennifer Spieser.
The first round of CPAC Grants have been awarded, with the second deadline for submission in July. The current grantees are:
Mt. Auburn Community Development Corporation, Inwood Park– The Mt. Auburn Family Picnic will be held in July (after the cicadas are gone) at Inwood Park. This picnic will include games like cornhole & volleyball, food trucks, snacks, giveaways and even a DJ! (More details coming soon.)
CUF Neighborhood Association, Bellevue Park – This event will be held in June and will be a combination cleanup, picnic, and discussions about future improvements that the community would like to make to the park. Food, drinks, and entertainment will be provided. (More details coming soon.)
