Nature as Medicine Walking Group

Join us for a restorative midday walk that blends movement, fresh air, and meaningful connection. Our Nature as Medicine Walking Group invites you to step away from the day and into nature—using walking as a simple, evidence-based practice to support physical and mental wellbeing.

Led by Nature as Medicine leaders Barbara Walker, PhD, and Kelly Lyle, MHA, MS, this weekly, 1-mile accessible walk supports physical activity, stress reduction, and mental clarity during the workday.

  • When: Weekly on Tuesdays from12:15-12:45 p.m.

  • Where: Meeting/Starting Location: Lobby by BlaCk Coffee in the Blood Cancer Healing Center (3232 Healing Way, Cincinnati, OH 45229) with free, on-site parking available in the attached garage. Bus stop (lines 51, 46, 36) available in front of the building (3229 Burnet Ave, Cincinnati OH 45229).

  • What: A one-mile walk (all abilities welcome). No special equipment or prior experience needed  -  just comfortable shoes and curiosity. Come as you are and experience how time in nature can be powerful medicine. We’ll spend about 30 minutes walking at a relaxed pace, creating space not only for gentle movement and fresh air, but also for connection. This walk is intentionally designed as a time to nurture well-being together – to move,  slow down, share conversation, strengthen community, and remember that caring for ourselves and each other can be simple, restorative, and meaningful.

  • Register: this meetup is offered at no cost and registration is encouraged via the Osher Registration System. If this is your first time using the system, visit the Osher Registration System Guide.

This Well-being Walk is hosted by the Osher Center for Integrative Health at the University of Cincinnati, a community partner who shares in the mission of Cincinnati Parks + Rec for Wellness, connecting people to nature, movement and community through outdoor experiences across our city.
