Wednesdays in the Woods is an annual free summer concert series at the Burnet Woods bandstand. Celebrating everything great about summer, this series brought friends and families together for good tunes, good food and a great time! Every Wednesday, May 29 through August 7 concert goers enjoyed live music, rotating food trucks, children’s activities and more.
Hosted by the Clifton Cultural Arts Center (CCAC) and supported by Cincinnati Parks and the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, this series is a great example of how partnerships can successfully activate parks. The CCAC reported that nearly 4,000 people were in attendance at this year’s series. The Cincinnati Parks Foundation Emerging Leaders raised $5,500 for parks through beer sales.
Programs like Wednesdays in the Woods provide a multitude of benefits to the community by:
- Offering FREE quality entertainment.
- Encouraging residents to get outdoors and enjoy their neighborhood park.
- Giving children a safe place to play and make new friends.
- Creating opportunities for social interaction and inclusion, which builds a stronger sense of community.
Thank you to the Clifton Cultural Arts Center, Cincinnati Parks, all the musicians and volunteers who helped make this year a success. We’ll see you at the Bandstand in 2020!
