Brian Tiffany: Driving Growth and Impact at Cincinnati Parks Foundation

Some people leave an imprint; others leave a legacy. Brian Tiffany, Board Chair of the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, is doing both. With a passion for community transformation, a deep love for parks, and an unparalleled ability to connect people, Brian has helped shape the future of not just the Foundation but the entire Cincinnati Parks system. His journey with the Foundation is one of dedication, diplomacy and vision.

A Natural Fit for Leadership

Brian’s path to the Cincinnati Parks Foundation Board of Directors began with an invitation from his friends. “Ellen and Clark Sole brought me in,” he recalls. “Ellen and I were great friends, and as a longstanding supporter of Cincinnati Parks, she knew my background and thought I could contribute. I gladly accepted.”

His leadership credentials were undeniable. As the former President of the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce and a board member of organizations like the Cincinnati Opera and Equality Ohio, Brian had long been an advocate for progress in Cincinnati and beyond. His decision to join the Foundation’s Board was driven by his firm conviction in transformative power of parks: “Parks don’t just change the environment—they change communities,” he says.

Strengthening Partnerships and Expanding Impact

As Board Chair, Brian has been instrumental in fortifying relationships between the Foundation, Cincinnati Park Board and the broader community. “When I stepped into this role, I knew collaboration was key,” he explains. “I’m proud of the relationship we have with the Cincinnati Park Board. We share the same goals, and it’s a very symbiotic relationship.”

Among the projects he is most proud of are:

Looking ahead, Brian is also excited about the Cincinnati Parks for Wellness initiative. “This program is going to be transformative for the entire region,” he says. “We don’t spend enough time in nature and Cincinnati Parks provide the perfect opportunity to reconnect with the outdoors. We need to encourage people to take advantage of them— for their physical health and for their mental well-being. Parks are also places where we can meet and connect with people who may be of different age and background, places where we can create a more connected community.

A Passion for Progress

Beyond fundraising and advocacy, Brian’s greatest strength is his ability to connect people. “When someone comes to me with an idea, I immediately think of at least three people I can introduce them to,” he says. “I love bringing people together. It’s about finding the right connections to move projects forward.”

He also believes in diversifying the Board to better reflect the Cincinnati community. “When we nominate members, we need to think about what benefits the organization,” he notes. “We need people who can connect us to corporate partners, philanthropy and diverse communities. A Board that represents the whole city will only strengthen our mission.

Looking to the Future

As he envisions the next five years, Brian has bold aspirations. “I hope to see the Parks & Recreation departments collaborating more. I want to see the Fort Washington Way overbuild project underway and, ultimately, I want Cincinnati Parks to be recognized as the best park system in the country.

Overcoming Obstacles with Purpose

When asked how he persists in the face of challenges, Brian smiles.
You persist because you know you’re doing the right thing. You run into walls, but you keep finding a way around, over and through them. And in the end, you look back and proudly realize—you did it.”

A Personal Connection to Cincinnati Parks

Brian’s passion for parks is deeply personal, and when asked to name a favorite, he admits it’s hard to choose. “I have to say I’m biased toward Eden Park since it’s so close to me,” he shares. “But Lytle Park and Washington Park hold a special place in my heart because I had the chance to aid in their transformation.”

Brian Tiffany is more than just a leader; he is a visionary, a connector and a champion for Cincinnati Parks – and for that we are truly grateful. With Brian Tiffany’s steady leadership and passion for our mission, Cincinnati Parks Foundation is stronger, more connected and ready for the future.
