The Cincinnati Parks Foundation has temporarily suspended the Memorial Tree and Bench Program. It is our hope to resume the program soon.
Thank you for your interest in supporting Cincinnati Parks.
Honor a loved one with a dedicated tree in her/his favorite Cincinnati Park. Commemorative trees are available for a donation of $750 or more, which includes the tree, commemorative framed plaque and maintenance of the tree.
Tree selection and planting locations are chosen based on species, topography, soil condition, light exposure, mature plant size and appropriateness for placement in the preferred park. These factors are determined by the Cincinnati Parks arborist and park manager to ensure that the commemorative tree will continue to thrive for many years to come.
When completing the donation form, you may identify up to three preferred species for consideration, including:
Shade: Elm, Honey Locust, Maple, Oak, Sweet Gum, Sycamore
Evergreen: Spruce, White Pine
Indigenous: Bald Cypress, Ginkgo
Flowering: Crabapple, Japanese Lilac, Magnolia, Serviceberry

Trees are typically planted in the fall to ensure a healthy planting. However, depending on availability, species and park planting schedule, it may be planted sooner.
When completing the donation form, you may identify up to three preferred parks for consideration.
Please note that many parks located downtown/in the urban core are not accepting commemorative trees at this time, including, but not limited to, John G. & Phyllis W. Smale Riverfront Park, Washington Park, Piatt Park and Lytle Park.
Included with each commemorative tree is a plaque that hangs from the tree. A commemorative framed plaque will also be provided to share with the honoree or her/his loved ones. Eighty (80) characters or less are recommended.
Please note that “Cincinnati Parks Foundation 20xx” will be printed on the bottom of each plaque.
Cincinnati Parks Foundation guarantees the health of the tree and the plaque for ten years, following the initial planting of the tree.
Please complete the donation form online. Once received, Cincinnati Parks Foundation will initiate the process, seeking approval from the arborist and park manager. Once all details have been approved and confirmed, the Foundation will provide a map of the planting as well as the commemorative framed plaque.
If you have any special requests, such as planting schedule, please include in comments section of donation form.
